I am a non-traditional piano teacher in central Denver, CO, and I welcome inquiries into lessons by adult students and by parents of children and youth ages 9+. I begin students with an auditory, "playing-based" approach, which means that students initially learn to play music by pattern and by ear in ways that do not require them to read notes from the page. By building a deep understanding of how music sounds and functions, we establish a foundation for playing musically that later results in superior music reading skills.

I specialize in teaching the following types of students who are willing to learn online via Zoom during the coronavirus pandemic: 

• Beginners (both those who have played previously and those with no prior experience);
• Youth ages 9+ (during the coronavirus pandemic, I am not accepting younger students)
• Adults of all ages;
• Intermediate students looking to transform their playing experience;
• Pianists seeking relief from pain and discomfort when playing;
• People who have struggled with reading music in the past or who wish to memorize music more easily.
