Taizé Community
A monastic community (pronounced TEH-zay) in the Burgundy region of France devoted to peace and reconciliation through worldwide outreach to young people and impoverished communities. I visited Taizé in 2002 and am forever changed by my time there and by the blessing of participating in Taizé-style services in the Denver area for the last six years. Silent meditation and sung prayers of simple, captivating melodies characterize the Taizé style of worship.
Loreena McKennitt
A Canadian artist known for her Celtic style and her exquisite vocals and musical arrangements. I am grateful for the influence of Loreena's music, for her deep authenticity, and for her strong convictions regarding the privacy rights of those who choose to share their art with the world.
Sarah McLachlan
Sarah's style, approach, lyrics, and melodies continue to bring me joy and inspiration. A world-famous artist worthy of every ear turned her way.
Eva Cassidy
An extraordinary singer and guitarist whose work has exploded on the musical scene since her tragic death in 1996 at the age of 33. Eva is not yet well-known in the U.S. even though she lived and performed in the Washington, D.C. area. I first heard her through a Taizé acquaintance and am grateful for that connection. In 2006, Eva's music helped forge my connection with guitarist Steve Pearlman. Steve and I are proud to perform a number of Eva's renditions, including Over the Rainbow, Time After Time, Fields of Gold, and I Know You By Heart.
